NBA - Denver at Cleveland

The ESPN Sunday night feature offers up someone other than Kobe Bryant and the Lakers for a change. While Kobe's 50-point outbursts have been something to watch, the games themselves over the past two weeks against Dallas and Minnesota have not. Perhaps an out-of-conference showdown between Lebron's Cavs & Carmelo's Nuggets will do the trick.

Cleveland is in the throes of a most impressive second half of the season, playing great defense and moving up the ladder not only in the standings, but defensive categories also. The Cavaliers are now 5th in the NBA in points allowed and have surpassed even San Antonio in defensive field goal percentage to take over the third spot. Along with this, the ball movement on offense has been the best since LeBron James joined Cleveland. If Denver starts this game a little leg weary it would be no real surprise since this is third road game in four days and it still has to play at Detroit tomorrow. The Nuggets might respond later in the game, because with a day between games they have covered better than 61% of the time this year. The key numbers in this contest are seven and two. Cleveland is 7-2 ATS against Denver since 1996 at home. When these two clubs connect near the shores of Lake Erie, they are 7-2 Over. Watch for the Cavs, still in the hunt for the Central Division title, and 26-9 at home, to chew up the Nuggets in an easy victory. Expecting a double-digit win, anything shy of 7-point on the line should be a Cleveland play.
